Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vinh Nguyen ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the iOS app Selfaria, listed on the App Store as "Selfaria: Face Swap & Enhancer" (the "App"). The App lets you choose a photo and uses artificial intelligence to make it brighter, smoother, sharper or more artistic, and to swap a face from one photo into another. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts or precise location. When you first open the App, it creates an anonymous account tied to your device so that your photos and results are kept separate from other users. The App collects the following:
- Photos you choose – the photos you take or pick from your photo library, the edited images the App creates from them, and small previews used to show your history. The App only accesses the photos you select.
- Face data – see section 2. The App works with the faces that appear in the photos you choose, but it does not create or store a face template, faceprint or any other biometric identifier.
- Account and usage records – an anonymous user ID, the edits you start and their status, and how many free or rewarded edits you used each day.
- Device identifiers – app-instance and installation identifiers and the identifier for vendors, used for analytics, to deliver and measure ads, and to limit how often an ad is shown. On iOS the App asks for your permission before using your advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking; if you decline, the IDFA is not used.
- Diagnostics – crash reports and performance data (device model, OS version, app version) used to find and fix bugs.
- Advertising data – information about the ads you see and interact with (for example impressions, clicks and rewarded videos completed), together with your approximate region derived from your IP address.
- Purchase information – if you buy a subscription, Apple processes the payment and sends the App a receipt with a transaction identifier. We never receive your name, card or billing details.
2. Face data
Enhancing a selfie, smoothing skin and swapping faces all need to work with the faces in your photos. This is how we handle that information:
- What is used: the photos you choose and, on your device, the position and outline of the faces in them, found with Apple's Vision framework. The App does not use Face ID, the TrueDepth camera or ARKit face tracking.
- Why: only to create the result you asked for, for example placing a swapped face in the right spot or keeping the parts of the photo you did not ask to change. We do not use face data to identify or recognize you or anyone else, to verify identity, for advertising, or for analytics.
- Who receives it: to create a result, the photos are sent over an encrypted connection to an AI image model run by our service provider (Cloudflare Workers AI, or Google Gemini). The provider processes the images only to return the result to us. We do not sell, share or rent your photos or face data to anyone else, and we do not use them to train AI models.
- How long it is kept: face positions found on your device are used for that edit and are not uploaded or kept. Your photos and results are stored in private cloud storage linked to your anonymous account until you delete them or ask us to delete your data (section 7).
3. How we use your photos
- Your photos are uploaded over an encrypted connection to private cloud storage that only your anonymous account can access.
- They are processed only to create, store and show the edits you request.
- We do not publish your photos or show them to other users.
4. How we use other information
- To run the App, keep your photos and results, and count your daily edits.
- To deliver subscriptions you buy.
- To understand how the App is used and improve it.
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and performance problems.
- To show advertisements and measure their performance.
5. Third-party services
The App uses the following service providers, which process information under their own privacy policies:
- Supabase (account, database and photo storage) – supabase.com/privacy
- Cloudflare (AI image model and content delivery) – cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Google Gemini API (AI image model, when used) – policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config – firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) ad mediation and Unity Ads – unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
- Google AdMob – policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple App Store (subscriptions) – apple.com/legal/privacy
Photos and face data are shared only with the storage and AI image providers above, and only to create your results. Analytics and advertising providers never receive your photos. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Advertising choices
You can allow or deny tracking when the App asks, and change it any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. If you deny tracking you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant to you.
7. Data retention and deletion
Your photos and results are kept while your account is in use so that you can see them again. You can delete a result in the App at any time. To delete all your photos, results and anonymous account, email us from the App's Support page with the subject "Delete my data" and the approximate date you used the App; we delete the data within 30 days. Analytics and crash data are kept by our service providers for the periods set in their policies (for Firebase Analytics, up to 14 months). Deleting the App removes data stored on your device, but not the photos in cloud storage, so please contact us if you want those removed.
8. Content rules and consent
Only use photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed to have their photo edited or their face swapped. Do not upload photos of children, nude or sexual images, or photos used to deceive, harass or impersonate someone. We may refuse to process, or delete, content that breaks these rules. You can report a problem with any result from the App's Support page.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information or photos from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has used the App, contact us and we will delete the data.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, CCPA or state biometric privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to object to its processing. For any request, contact us at the address below.
11. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and your photos are stored in private storage protected by access rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the effective date above will be updated.
